17:100.6      School property; jurisdiction

 Notwithstanding any provision of law or any rule or regulation to the contrary, except as may be otherwise specifically provided for in a local or special law, including but not limited to R.S. 17:58.2(E) and (F), 72, and 72.1 and any amendments thereto, and pursuant to the duty and responsibility placed with the legislature by Article VIII, Section 1 of the Constitution of Louisiana to establish and maintain a public educational system and the authority granted the legislature by Article VIII, Section 10(A) of the Constitution of Louisiana to enact laws affecting parish school board systems in existence on the effective date of the constitution, all lands, buildings and improvements, facilities, and other property having title vested in the public and subject to management, administration, and control by a parish school board for public education purposes but located within the geographic boundaries of a public school board created by the legislature after January 1, 1995, shall be managed, administered, and controlled by the public school board in whose geographic boundaries the lands, buildings and improvements, facilities, or other property is located, effective on the date such school board begins its initial year of actual operation providing for the education of students within its jurisdiction.
