RESOLUTION No. 001
Adoption of Reapportionment Plan 2A
A RESOLUTION REAPPORTIONING THE SINGLE MEMBER VOTING DISTRICTS FOR THE ACADIA PARISH SCHOOL BOARD, LOUISIANA, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE 2020 CENSUS
WHEREAS, the 2020 Census was released on August 12, 2021, and
WHEREAS, the Acadia Parish School Board conducted a study to examine their 2020 census population with their existing districts, and
WHEREAS, the study showed that the election districts were malapportioned, and
WHEREAS, the Acadia Parish School Board undertook the redistricting of their election districts to rebalance the population and maintain minority representation on the School Board, and
WHEREAS, Plan 2A is hereby designated at the Redistricting Plan, and
WHEREAS, Plan 2A is based on whole precincts created by the Acadia Parish Police Jury with their respective adoption of their Plan 2A and accompanying precinct ordinance, and
WHEREAS, the Acadia Parish School Board hereby authorizes the demographer to submit the Redistricting Plan to the Louisiana Secretary of State.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Acadia Parish School Board, in regular session assembled, that Resolution No. 001 adopting the Redistricting Plan 2A be adopted with the Districts described to -wit:
