5. SUPERINTENDENT'S COMMENTS

Information, Procedural: 5.1 Superintendent's Comments

The governor announced today that we will enter phase 2 re-opening on Friday June 5th.  We are moving forward with start of school planning and preparing for distance learning if needed.  He discussed options of how to best use funding from the Strong Start 2020 federal grant.  He has been meeting with coaches and principals to discuss summer sports and activities.  We will be given guidance by LDOE as to how to safely move forward through the phases of full re-opening.  He expressed his appreciation of Ashley Leblanc and everyone at the Acadia Office of Emergency Preparedness.   He is grateful to the high schools' principals and staff for their work on graduation ceremonies and to the seniors for their patience and cooperation.
