5. SUPERINTENDENT'S COMMENTS

Information, Procedural: 5.1 Superintendent's Comments

The Superintendent expressed his appreciation to Board for getting together.  The Governor announced today the stay at home order is extended through May 15, 2020.  We will need adjustments made to Budget calendar.  The parish has transitioned from grab-and-go meals to Baylor program with UPS delivered meals. Acadia Healthy Alliance partnered with 3 o'clock project are also providing meals in three areas of the parish. Remote learning packets have been given out by all schools. Principals are asked to have essential but limited staff at each school. Plans are in place for seniors to complete necessary requirements. Caps and gowns have been distributed by each high school, more definite plans to be made during the next weeks regarding graduation ceremonies. Conference calls, Google Forms and virtual meetings are replacing face-to-face events that usually occur at this time of the year.  Superintendent Richard thanked the hard work of the APSB employees during these trying times.
