The Acadia Parish School Board met on this the 17tht day of June, 2015 at 5:00 p.m., in a SPECIAL SESSION at Crowley, Louisiana, with President Mr. Douglas J. LaCombe presiding, pursuant to the following notice given in writing to each and every member thereof and duly posted in the manner required by law, viz.

Dear Board Member:
By virtue of the authority vested in me by law by reason of the fact that it is deemed necessary, advisable, and to the public interest that the Acadia Parish School Board is called to a SPECIAL SESSION; therefore, I, Douglas J. LaCombe, President of the Acadia Parish School Board, do hereby give notice that a special meeting of the said Board will be held at its domicile in the City of Crowley, Louisiana, at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 17, 2015 , for the purpose of discussing, and, if deemed advisable, acting upon the following proposition(s), to wit:
SPECIAL SESSION ITEMS:
ROUTINE ITEMS:
1. CONSIDER THE 2015-2016 HEAD START PARENT HANDBOOK.
2. CONSIDER THE RENEWAL OF THE PROPERTY INSURANCE FOR 2015-2016.
3. CONSIDER THE BIDS RECEIVED FOR THE PARCEL OF OLD WALMART PROPERTY.

1) Mr. Douglas LaCombe called the meeting to order. Members present were Mr. Delo Hebert, Mr. Gene Daigle, Mr. John Suire, Mr. David Lalande, Mr. James Higginbotham, Reverend James Proctor and Superintendent John Bourque. Mr. Milton Simar was absent.
2) Mr. Lalande led the prayer.
3) Mr. Daigle led the pledge of allegiance.
4) Reading of the letter calling for Special Session.
Mr. Douglas LaCombe read the letter calling for a special session. Upon motion by Mr. Lalande, seconded by Mr. Daigle, and carried by a unanimous voice vote, the board approved special session.
ROUTINE ITEMS:
1) CONSIDER THE 2015-2016 HEAD START PARENT HANDBOOK.
Upon motion by Mr. Lalande, seconded by Mr. Daigle, and carried by a unanimous voice vote, the board approved the 2015-2016 Head Start Parent Handbook.
2) CONSIDER THE RENEWAL OF THE PROPERTY INSURANCE FOR 2015-2016.
Upon motion by Mr. Lalande, seconded by Mr. Daigle, and carried by a unanimous voice vote the board approved renewal of the property insurance for 2015-2016 with Dupre, Carrier, & Godchaux at a cost of $639,635.62.
3) CONSIDER THE BIDS RECEIVED FOR THE PARCEL OF OLD WALMART PROPERTY.
Upon motion by Mr. Suire, seconded by Reverend Proctor, and carried by a unanimous voice vote, the board approved bids received for the parcel of old Walmart property and accepted bid from Albarado Properties, LLC for $90,050 granting Albarado Properties, LLC the opinion to sell property to Mr. Thomas L. McNeely, III, without returning to the board for its right to re-purchase the property from Albarado Properties, LLC, and further, granting permission for the board’s attorney to work with attorney(s) for Albarado Properties, LLC and Mr. Thomas L. McNeely pursuant to the judicial completion of transfer of ownership of the property from the Acadia Parish School Board to subsequent parties.
